Mäki’s Madness and Civilization (Hulluus ja yhteiskunta) is an audiovideo of a radiofeature written by Harri Virtanen and directed by Juha-Pekka Hotinen is about xenophobia, misogynia and the relationship between violence and pleasure. Pierre Rivière, Anders Breivik and Michel Foucault; two murderers and one philosopher are the main characters. The dialogue of the film is based on court minutes and on Foucault’s writings.
Teemu Mäki (b. 1967) is an artist and Doctor of Fine Arts. He works in the fields of art, video, theatre, literature and theory. For him art is the most flexible, versatile and comprehensive form of philosophy and politics.
