Media artist Matti Niinimäki’s interactive art work Hiitola takes over the container gallery space The Black Box, situated in Lasipalatsi Square. An audiovisual world which visitors can step into evolves during the exhibition as mysterious hiisi-creatures, created by children in an open workshop, are moving in. During the festival week Niinimäki will also hold a workshop connected to this project.

Welcome to the opening celebration of the renewed artwork on Friday 11th of Apr, from 5pm to 7pm!

WED–SUN 9.-13.4.2014 The Black Box (Lasipalatsi Square) 15:00–19:00
Address: Lasipalatsi, Mannerheimintie 22, Helsinki

The project is produced by a collective of three women, Jääskeläinen, Ohtonen & Väliheikki. Media artist Matti Niinimäki works in the intersections of research, interactive installations, experimental electronics and real time sound and video. There’s always room for humor in his work, as well as for the insight of the people experiencing it.
